ABSTRACT : This experiment was carried out to investigate the possibility of inter-generic grafting and the growth between Chinese cabbage and Radish.
The grafting was succeeded the following combination; Chinese cabbage 'House-Bom'/Radish 'Chosang-Daehyung-Bommu', Chinese cabbage 'House-Bom'/Radish 'Jinjudaepyung', Chinese cabbage 'House-Bom'/Radish'Taebaek', Chinese cabbage 'Konaengji-Yorm'/Radish 'Chosang-Daehyung-Bommu', Chinese cabb-age 'Konaengji-Yorm'/Radish 'Jinjudaepyung', Chinese cabbage 'Konaengji-Yorm'/Radish 'Taebaek', Chinese cabbage 'Chunhawang'/Radish 'Chosang-Daehyung-Bommu', Chinese cabbage 'Chunhawang'/Radish 'Jinjudaepyung' and Chinese cabbage 'Chun-hawang'/Radish 'Taebaek'.
The ratio of successful union was 79% at Chinese cabbage'House-Bom'/Radish'Tae-baek', 74% at Chinese cabbage 'House-Bom'/Radish 'Jinjudaepyung', 73% at Chinese cabbage 'ChunHawang'/Radish 'Taebaek' and 70% at Chinese cabbage 'Chunhawang'/Radish'Jinjudaepyung', while 30% at Chinese cabbage 'House-bom'/Radish 'Chosang-Daehyung-Bommu'and 51% at Chinese cabbage'Chunhawang'/Radish 'Chosang-Daehyung-Bommu'.
The successful union according to seedling age of Radishes appeared best in grafting of 19 day-seedling. In the graft-culture compared to non-graft-culture, the growth of cabbages was bad but that of radishes was good. Consequently, it was observed that the grafting between Chinese cabbage'House-Bom' and Radish 'Taebaek' was good at successful union and growth.
